I contemplate my resolutions every year. I guess I have always felt I shouldn’t need a new year to set a goal and achieve it. But, last night as we sat with all the family for New Year’s dinner, which was so very yummy, the kids all wanted to go around the table to hear what everyone’s favorite food on the table is & a resolution. When it came to Katie she said mashed taters and her resolution is to love everyone. I think it just about melted everyone right on the spot!! Great one for a 4 year old.
I have many but it made me think that maybe this is what will hold me accountable…to speak them out loud/write them down. Mine at dinner was to bring down my spending. It was a hard one being that this last year I spent a ton of money replacing things after the fire…so I guess it is a goal that is achievable. In all seriousness it has a purpose. Here are my resolutions for 2013 –
1. Bring down my spending – stop buying frivolously. Being more thrifty!2. Try 1 new recipe a week.
3.Finish 1 piece of furniture a month (from start to finish)
4.Have sold 3 pieces of furniture by end of year (this is big since I usually do not sell my pieces)
5. Do 1 random act of kindness for a stranger & 1 act of random kindness for someone I know once a month – this is 24 random acts of kindness for the year!
6. My big one – slow down & enjoy life – do more with my husband & girls.
I will expect to be held accountable for all the above & will keep track on my blog.
Much love, peace & happiness
