Drum roll please..The winner is... For the sliding pantry door color guess

Here are the pictures.  Gosh it's killed me to have waited so long to reveal her, but a few adjustments had to be made to get good pictures.

We love how it turned out.

There were a lot of readers that guessed red from when I first posted the originally post.  I had to hide the comments on facebook & not publish the comment on my blog.  Sorry guys...had to wait for the game begin.  But, I thought it was pure awesome that so many read my style :)

I had guesses of shade of purple, black, white, cayenne, to all sorts of other colors.

Everyone that comes in is quickly drawn to it & asks me lots of questions.  I loved the blue it was painted, and when I started sanding it down..it was showing some awesomeness.  But, blue wasn't on my brain...this barn door red was.

I grew up riding horses & living out in the country with a barn.  I am drawn to red doors, barn doors & barns...so it is simply what I wanted to incorporate into our living space.  I now have my very own red sliding barn door.

One last look at a before....

The day I picked her up...

Starting the process...see all the wood rot?

Lots of work went into turning her into a red beauty :)

I hope you enjoyed the reveal & the game.  I love to gift things so it was super duper fun for me!!
Thank you to Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage for working with me on getting the Maison Blanche paint giveaway together!!  She's simply awesome folks..I highly recommend her to you all :)

I have something fun to show you all hopefully (I am off to the Stormville Flea Market in the morning) tomorrow, but couldn't reveal until I had a winner and was able to show the door :)

And, CONGRATS Becky H. :)

  6. I didn't follow all the guessing that seem to have been around but I was snooping Ivy and Elephants and decided to see what the thumbnail promissed to be a huge success. I love when one single piece becomes a value that it turns to be like a new room a new divison a new - and successful - point of interest in a Home.

Well done! Probably one of the most amazing projects I've seen lately in the internet. So glad you shared in in Ivy and Elephants and I found it... I'll start following you and your Inspirations!

    Thank you,
    Teresa

  8. Oh, it looks wonderful! Usually sliding doors are made of glass, but this one's very unique. And I like how it was installed in the pantry. I'm curious, though, what room is behind it?

    1. Hi Danielle... Thank you for stopping by. The door was installed on the outside of the pantry. So basically the door is a big part of our living space (our kitchen, dining room, & living area is all one big giant space). The room behind the door is the actual pantry. If you look at our home tour, you can see the pantry door open & it is easier to see the room.
